There are two kinds of commonly used FRP gratings with self-adhesive and without self-adhesive. The one with self-adhesive can be laid directly on the flat base, and the one without self-adhesive is usually fixed by stainless steel snap ring and steel nail. Common road sections use glass fiber grating without self-adhesive, and the materials required for fixing are:
①50×50×0.3mm fixed stainless steel snap ring, it is required to be flat and not warped, and the periphery should be chamfered;
②2-inch steel nails.
When using fixed steel nails or stainless steel snap rings to lay the FRP grating, first fix one end of the fixed snap ring and steel nails on the lower structure that has been sprayed with adhesive layer asphalt, and the steel nails can be injected by hammering or shooting nails. The grille is then tensioned longitudinally and fixed in sections, each section having a length of 2 to 5m. It can also be divided into sections according to the spacing of the shrinkage joints, and the position of the steel nails is set at the gap of the joints. When the grid is required to be tensioned, the glass fiber is in a straight tension state in both longitudinal and transverse directions.
The lap joint of FRP grating is a longitudinal lap joint, the lap joint width is not less than 20mm, and the horizontal lap joint width is not less than 15mm. The longitudinal lap joint should place the former one above the latter one according to the asphalt paving direction. When fixing, the steel nails cannot be nailed to the FRP grating, and the FRP grating cannot be directly hit with a hammer. After the fiberglass grating is laid and fixed, it must be moderately rolled and stabilized with a rubber roller roller, so that the fiberglass grating can be firmly bonded to the original road surface.
